Clear the Way—
Focus on Patient Care
Addressing Challenges in the Healthcare Industry
Behavioral and mental health challenges such as addiction, suicide, anxiety, and loneliness affect many individuals. As these issues have become more common, it is clear that access to the right care, from the right provider, at the right time is crucial for everyone in need.
However, redundant paperwork often stands in the way of people receiving the care they need. Archaic, manual systems prevent providers from being available for new patients, causing delays and frustration.
It is time to improve the process of provider credentialing.
When Care Providers Face Obstacles
Mental and behavioral health providers deal with an overwhelming amount of paperwork that hinders their ability to focus on patient care, despite their passion for helping others.
The process of obtaining mandatory credentials is burdensome and taxing. Without proper credentials submitted to insurers for every state a provider operates in, virtually or physically, providers risk not being reimbursed for services rendered. The current manual process is lengthy and prone to human error, resulting in a high denial rate. For some specialty providers, delays in credentialing can mean significant financial losses and substantial wait times to accept new patients with uncredentialed health insurance companies.
The Impact of Inefficiencies
Healthcare professionals strive to focus on patient care and achieve their earning potential through reimbursements. However, when credentialing paperwork required by insurance takes days to complete and months to process, this potential is limited. Changing jobs, moving to a new state, or patients moving to new states requires filling out forms and faxing information repeatedly, which can be tedious. The system has not evolved much since the 1950’s.
The recent increase in mental health awareness, especially during COVID, highlighted the importance of therapy. However, the next challenge is ensuring mental health availability. For example, a veteran friend seeking help during a critical time at a hospital found no therapists available due to high demand. Although he eventually found help, many people face similar situations daily. Preventing such situations and improving access to care is essential.
A Solution Takes Shape
A group of individuals, passionate about addressing these challenges and armed with industry knowledge, came together to find a solution. They worked to formulate a unique approach to tackle the credentialing problem. Realizing the scope of the issue, they consulted with industry experts, financiers, and developers to increase the team size as the reality of this problem was further validated by leading industry experts. One of the Vouch team members had a personal connection to the issue, as a family member struggled to receive proper care after a severe health event. That experience highlighted the need for a better system. Together, the team formed Vouch Medical.
Streamlining Credentialing for Better Patient Care
The idea is simple: providers will be able to use Vouch and complete their credentialing needs ‘on-demand’ once fully developed and launched. The Vouch dashboard integrates with existing EHR/EMRs, allowing providers to upload their information once and be covered every time they need to provide credentials. This ensures their time is spent on patients, not paperwork.
The Vouch Medical team has seen firsthand the frustration providers face and recognizes that the infrastructure to solve this problem already exists. Vouch Medical aims to integrate its solution into existing medical database systems, making credentialing seamless and error-free.
The Future According to Vouch Medical
With Vouch Medical, providers can get “Vouch’ed” instantly, allowing more qualified providers to enter the field without bureaucratic hassle and better supporting the needs of their patients. More therapists and specialists will be available, benefiting everyone in need of care.
Most importantly, when providers can focus on providing care, and care is accessible to all, we will achieve our true potential.
